New solo accordion work from Faruk Mehić called Morning Waltz op. 5 no. 4 had the honor of being premiered at a solo concert of Fernando Ávila on August 24, 2024 in the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Bihać.
This is a composition for solo accordion that musically depicts the morning ambience. Singable melodies, precise form with tonal harmonic language evoke that idyllic ambience. In addition, the composer imaginatively uses registration and percussive elements on the accordion, which additionally contributes to the idiomatic writing for that instrument.
